Hunt the Leaf River herd out of Kuujjuaq (formerly known as Ft. Chimo) with Safari Nordik which has had very little
hunting pressure. Over the past five years, this most productive herd has produced a large number of record book animals scoring 400 or more B&C points. It
has also entitled this outfitter to an average of 1.90 bull caribou per hunter over the last ten years. Their high rate is mainly due to the fact that all its camps are
situated in prime caribou country, 35 miles apart. With over 30 camps, of which we only use nine or ten at one given time,
they have a greater mobility and choice of camps to send hunters. Our caribou hunts run mid-August thru early October except for trophy hunts, which are late
September thru mid October.
Each 2012 Caribou Package comes with an "exclusive" Caribou Guarantee: Outfitter
guarantees guests that they will have the opportunity to harvest one mature bull caribou -or- receive a FREE return trip from Montreal (excluding caribou tags).
Policy for 1 bull harvest guarantee: Hunters that choose not to take a bull, so they can return free, or holding out for a
record class bull, or faking a miss, or choosing not to shoot a bull, the guarantee will be void. If you don't have any of these opportunities on your bull, you can
return for a free hunt the following year, less caribou tags. Additional details will be given at time of booking.
