Outfitter #3
Hunt beautiful Newfoundland Canada for Moose, Woodland Caribou, and Black Bear out of Deer Lake, Newfoundland.
The Lodge is accessible by vehicle via a logging road. There is a short walk from the parking area to the (Southwest) Main Lodge. The Lodge is situated
on the shore of a lake that stretches five (5) miles, buffered by large stands of forest land. Above the trees are barren plateaus (caribou terrain). Outfitter
also has two satellite camps, each a comfortable three (3) miles from the main lodge. Both of these camps are located on pond shores. The distance
between the main lodge and the satellite camps is made up of a series of small ponds and open marshland (ideal moose habitat) There is miles of
wilderness terrain to hunt! A fairly aggressive hunter should expect to see 25 moose and 35, during a normal week of hunting. Approximately 35- 45%
of animals taken are classified as trophy class. This percentage can rise if the hunter is willing to work a little harder. The camps are of modern
construction and have all the conveniences of home. Hot and cold water, hot showers, generator electricity, mobile telephone. This outfitter has
been in the guiding business for over 15 years. Outfitter takes a limited number of hunters, usually 4 per week, with a maximum of 6 per week.
Newfoundland has the highest population of moose in North America, 125 thousand animals. Outfitter's rifle and bow clients harvest success for
moose runs 90%, harvest success for woodland caribou and black bear usually runs 100%.
